Asynchronous Renewal of Subscriptions
You can now renew large subscriptions asynchronously directly from the UI. This is especially useful when subscriptions include a large number of products, covered assets, or a combination of both. You needn't wait for the renewal to complete while the UI is open. The profile option Threshold Subscription Size for Asynchronous Lifecycle Operation can be set to an appropriate value so that the application executes the "Automatically Renew Eligible Subscriptions" batch process in the background.
On clicking the Renewal action from the user interface, you will:
• See a confirmation message indicating that the renewal will be handled asynchronously.
• Be able to view the background job details (e.g., process ID) in the UI for tracking purposes.
When you click on Renew in the subscription product actions, then depending on the value of the profile option the asynchronous process is initiated, and you will be informed about it.
Message Upon Renewal Action
You will see that a process has been initiated, and you can take note of the process id.
ESS for Asynchronous Renewal
If you want to track the process till completion or check the status of the process, you can click on Actions and select View Process Details
Tracking the Process to Completion
You can see the status of the process and that subscription that is being processed
Status of Process
- Enhance user experience and efficiency when working with high-volume subscriptions.
- Subscriptions that include a large number of products, covered assets, or a combination of both can be renewed without preventing user from navigating away from the user interface.
