Convert a Lead to an Existing Opportunity

You can now convert a lead into an existing opportunity instead of creating a new one. After the conversion, search for and select the existing converted opportunity and ensure that the revenue lines from the lead are added to the existing opportunity. Additionally, all other child objects are transferred to the opportunity based on the Copy Map configuration settings.

This will provide support to complex business processes. 

Steps to Enable

This feature must be enabled using the profile Option Code: ORA_MKL_LEAD_CONVERT_TO_EXISTING_OPTY

Steps

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, go to the profile option task that correlates to the product or functionality of the profile option you want to set. If needed, use the Manage Administrator Profile Values task, which provides access to all profile options.

  2. Search for and select the profile option ORA_MKL_LEAD_CONVERT_TO_EXISTING_OPTY using the Profile option Code.

  3. In the Profile Values section, select 'YES'
  4. Click Save and Close. Changes in the profile values affect users the next time they sign in.

Tips And Considerations

This feature uses the 'Copy Map' functionality to transfer information between Lead and Opportunity. If any changes are needed in the field mapping between Lead and Opportunity, they should be made within the 'Copy Map' configuration.
