Generate Sales Follow-up Activities from Email Conversations using Generative AI
Starting with 25B, sellers can get concise summaries of email conversations in the Redwood Sales add-in using Generative AI. With the 25C update, they will also receive follow-up activity recommendations based on the email context, along with the summary. The action items intelligently track the due dates and intended sales contacts, making it easy to act on the recommendations - whether by saving tasks to Sales or sending Outlook meeting invitations, which will then sync to Sales.
Sellers save time by eliminating the need to manually identify and create sales follow-ups from email threads.

Steps to Enable
Leverage Application Composer to expose and adjust page layout and attributes. To learn more about extending your application using Application Composer, visit Oracle Help Center > your apps service area of interest > Books > Configuration and Extension.
If you have enabled the Summarize Email feature delivered in 25B then no further steps required. If you have not enabled it yet, follow these steps which will enable the Summarize Email button in the add-in home page:
- In a publishable sandbox, navigate to Application Composer > Productivity Application Setup > Oracle Sales for Outlook
- In the Application Features pane, click Share.
- In the Share Views section, select Email.
- In the Layouts section, select an existing custom layout where Summarize Email feature is to be enabled. Else, clone the standard layout and enter a layout name.
- In the rightmost pane, expand the Generative AI section and turn on the Enable Summarize Email toggle.
- Click Save.
Tips And Considerations
- The Summarize Email button appears only when users are reviewing emails that include at least one Sales contact.
- Follow-up activity recommendations are generated only for emails which have reasonable action items and are received within the previous 72 hours.
- Up to three most relevant Sales follow-ups are recommended based on the email content.
- Follow-up recommendations are generated each time the Summarize Email function is used, even if the user has already acted upon the recommendations. To prevent duplicate follow-ups, synced outlook appointments and sales tasks logged by the user within the past 24 hours for a specific Account in Sales are shown in the Email Summary.
- As with all generative AI features, it's important that your users verify the generated content for correctness and accuracy.
Access Requirements
If you're using a custom role for the add-in users, you may need to grant ZCA_USE_GENAI_IN_SALES_PRIV privilege to the custom role to ensure the users have access to generative AI functions.
