Hide Manage Columns from Redwood List Pages to Restrict Viewing of Certain Fields

You can now restrict access to some users from viewing certain critical fields by assigning the Restrict Access to Manage Columns in List Page privilege. This means that the Manage Columns button in the Redwood List page is hidden from the signed in user. They can't expose any additional fields in the list besides the fields that are displayed from the saved search.

Restricting some users from viewing all the fields that are available on Redwood List page makes your data more secure.

Steps to Enable

  1. In the Security Console, search for the Privilege "Restrict Access to Manage Columns in List Page" - ZCA_RESTRICT_MANAGE_COLUMNS_PRIV.
  2. Associate this privilege with an existing custom roles or create a new role and associate this privilege with it.
  3. If required add this new role to the users for which you want to have restricted access.
  4. Run the ESS job "Import User and Roles" to make these changes effective.
Now those users will not be able to see Manage Columns and hence will only be able to see the columns coming as part of the saved searches.
