Add or Request New Billing and Shipping Address during Checkout

This feature allows Organization Buyers to add or request new addresses during checkout when the required billing or shipping address isn’t available.

Capability highlights

  • Organization Buyers can add or request new billing and shipping addresses during checkout.
  • Newly added addresses can be set as default address at the profile level.
  • Buyers can view newly added addresses in the recently used list during subsequent orders.
  • Account Address Managers can review and approve or reject address requests.
  • Notifications are sent to requester and approver on submission and approval.

This feature lets buyers quickly add new delivery addresses at checkout, preventing order delays. Account Address Managers maintain control by approving addresses, ensuring accuracy and preventing fraud. Automatic notifications keep everyone updated, streamlining the entire process and reducing errors.

Steps to Enable and Configure

Tips And Considerations

  • Ensure that the address formats in Fusion match with Oracle Commerce Cloud (OCC) for seamless integration. Make sure that the country and state codes are also the same in both the systems.
  • If merchants have custom properties created for addresses in Fusion, which they would like to mapped in OCC, they can do so by raising a Service Request(SR)with Oracle Support.
  • 4 new privileges has been introduced for this functionality
    • View Customer Account Address Request
    • Create Customer Account Address Request
    • Approve or Reject Customer Account Address Request
    • Remove Customer Account Address Request

If merchants like to extend this functionality to other users, they can create custom roles with these privileges and assign the new role to those users. The new access rights can be retrieved using the Admin Access Rights API.

  • New APIs have been introduced on Store for this feature.
  • Address requests older than 365 days are automatically purged.
  • This feature is only applicable for Commerce on CPQ customers.
