Multi-plan Migration

Automate the process of migrating multiple plans within an environments by leveraging the ESS processes to export the plans and import the exported files. The files are exported to the UCM server first followed by import process which created new compensation plans with the naming convention of user’s choice. The entire process is automated, and the export job of plans are triggered.

As part of best practices, we ask all customers to end date all plans and recreate the new plans even if there are no changes. Currently, an admin can perform this action but requires two steps and can only migrate one plan at a time. This feature allows for multiple plans to be migrated with a single step.

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

• This is a ESS job that requires heavy processing. You will need to allow reasonable time to complete the process and the duration depends on the quantity and the complexity of the plans.
• There is a limit of 25 plans that can be migrated at one time.
• The parameter window will not close until the export process is finished. Once the drawer is closed, you can let the system run the import in the background.
• You can keep track of migrated plans by viewing the .txt log file from the ESS parent job.
