Redwood Quote List Action Availability Based on User Access Permissions

Oracle CPQ 26C supports access-rights enforcement for Process Actions on the Redwood Quote List. If an action is not allowed for a user's role, that action is hidden or unavailable in the Redwood Quote list. This aligns Redwood Admin UI behavior with existing Quote Administration access-control implementations and helps to better manage operational actions.

Feature Highlights:

  • Reduces risk by limiting high-impact Quote Actions to authorized roles.
  • Improves user experience by showing only relevant Actions.
  • Supports governance and audit expectations for customer-facing quote operations.
  • Delivers consistent Redwood list behavior aligned with admin-defined permissions.

This enhancement helps subscription businesses manage mid-term growth and renewals under a unified contract structure, improving operational clarity and reducing manual overhead during renewal planning and billing administration.

Steps to enable and configure

Note: You must have quote administration privileges to configure this feature.

To configure user access permission for Quote Process Actions, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to CPQ Admin  < Quotes < Process Name < Process Actions.
  2. Open quote administration settings for Process Actions.
  3. Define or update access rights for each target role.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Deploy the process changes.
  6. Validate that only role-based users with permissions have the actions visible and executable in the Redwood Quote List.

Tips and considerations

  • Review action-level permissions after role model changes or reorganizations.
  • Confirm that custom actions are configured by the intended access policy.
