Redwood: Report Material Transactions for a Work Order Operation Using a New User Experience

Accurate material consumption in production operations is critical for manufacturers to properly manage inventory levels, effectively plan products, control costs, and ensure traceability of product composition, Now you can issue and return materials for a work order operation using a Redwood page. You can also leverage built-in barcode scanning to quickly capture the lot and serial number information and add material traceability information to a product's genealogy. This feature provides you with the following capabilities:

  • Scan or enter the lot and serial information for material with a supply type of push and pull 
  • Report material quantities consumed or returned for the work order operation quantity
  • Report ad hoc materials for a work order operation quantity

You can enable guided journeys to help user perform this task by providing videos, images, and best practices.

Report Material Transactions in Redwood User Experience

Manufacturers can maintain accurate traceability of lot and serial-controlled components and ensure compliance to quality and production standards with no additional time spent on manual record management.

Steps to Enable

Follow these steps to enable or disable this feature:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, search for and select the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
  1. On the Manage Administrator Profile Values page, search for and select the ORA_WIE_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_REDWOOD_ENABLED profile option code.
  1. In the Profile Values section, set the Site level to Y or N. The default value of the profile option is N.
  • Y = enables the feature
  • N = disables the feature
  1. Click Save and Close. Changes in the profile value will affect users the next time they sign in.

You'll have the option to enable or disable this feature from 24D update.

Tips And Considerations

  • You can also report material transactions for a work order operation through the operator workbench. Refer to the 24D feature Report Material Transactions for a Work Order Operation Executed at a Workstation for more information.
  • You can't report materials for work order operations in organizations with project tracking, country of origin tracking for inventory, or with warehouse management integration at this time.
  • You can't view material reservations while reporting material transactions at this time.

  • Report Material Transactions (WIP_REPORT_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_PRIV)

  • Use REST Service - Guided Journeys Read Only (Role Code ORA_PER_REST_SERVICE_ACCESS_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_RO)
  • Use REST Service - Guided Journey Responses (Role Code ORA_PER_REST_SERVICE_ACCESS_GUIDED_JOURNEY_RESPONSES)
