Qualify Equipment and Operator Before Executing Production at a Workstation
For manufacturing processes that include complex operations and specialized equipment, quality and compliance requirements often stipulate that both the equipment and labor resources are qualified to perform production execution.
With this update, you can validate that the equipment resource instance at the workstation is qualified based on the equipment profile information defined for the work order operation resource. Moreover, an operator can only execute those work order operations that the operator is qualified to execute at the workstation.
Qualify Resource Instances Prior to Starting Production Execution
Manufacturers can now ensure compliance and traceability for their work order operations, as only qualified equipment and labor resources can be used. Downtime instances due to inappropriate equipment or operator skill level issues are reduced.
Here's the demo of these capabilities:
Steps to Enable
To qualify labor resource instances, talent profiles must be enabled in Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management. After enabling the profiles, talent profile content sections, content items, and rating models must be created and made available for use in the job profile and employee profile.
To qualify equipment resource instances, asset numbers must be associated with the equipment resource instances. In Oracle Fusion Cloud Maintenance, define qualification requirements that belong to a qualification profile. You can then define qualification records for the eligible asset numbers.
Tips And Considerations
- https://youtu.be/dsLe5ikaG-4You can define the qualifications required for an operation resource of type equipment using an equipment qualification profile for an asset in Oracle Fusion Cloud Maintenance.
- You can define the qualifications required for an operation resource of type labor using model profiles in Oracle Profile Management within Oracle Talent Management, which is a part of Oracle HCM.
- You must associate the resource instance to an asset number to perform the equipment qualification check for the resource instance at the workstation.
- You can associate an equipment or job profile to a work definition operation resource of type equipment or labor respectively.
- If there are more than one job profiles for a work order operation, then the operator would need to qualify for all the job profiles before execution can begin.
- If an equipment resource instance is not qualified, the manufacturing engineer can remove it from the workstation by removing the assignment and assigning another appropriate qualified equipment resource instance to the workstation.
