Add, Remove, or Edit Additional Outputs in Discrete Manufacturing Work Definitions Using the ADFdi Spreadsheet
Discrete manufacturing processes involving production of more than one output often require additional outputs to be reused or sold as a separate item. These co-products and by-products are currently defined in new or existing standard work definitions. With this update, you can add, remove, or edit these additional outputs in standard work definition in discrete manufacturing through Application Development Framework Desktop Integration (ADFdi). The cost of these additional outputs can be defined as fixed or with allocation percentages, allowing for reuse as supply and inventory.
Discrete manufacturers can perform mass updates to additional outputs in work definitions for easier change management.
Steps to Enable
You must opt in the Report Ad hoc Outputs During Work Order Execution in Discrete Manufacturing feature (11.13.24.04.0) to automatically enable this feature.
No Longer Optional From: 11.13.25.01.0.
Tips And Considerations
-
Components can't be defined as outputs in a work definition for an operation.
-
Primary product can't be defined as an output in a work definition for an operation.
-
Negative component quantities in work definition operations will be considered as removed components during work execution and can't be reported as outputs. To know more about negative component quantities, refer to the 24B feature: Remove a Component During Discrete Manufacturing Work Execution.
-
Outputs can't be defined for an operation in a work definition for an organization that's enabled for contract manufacturing.
-
Outputs can be defined in standard work definition in discrete manufacturing.
-
Outputs can be optionally enabled as lot or serial-controlled to support product genealogy.

Access Requirements
Users who are assigned a configured job role that contains this privilege can associate outputs to work definition operations:
- Manage Work Definitions (WIS_MANAGE_WORK_DEFINITIONS_PRIV)
These privileges were available prior to this update.
