Redwood: Enhance Manufacturer Security with Attribute Group Level Access Control
You can now leverage several enhancements for manufacturers included in this update.
Here’s the list of enhancements:
-
Access control lists – select the groups a team can access.
-
Attributes – new company profile attributes added on the Redwood page.
-
Configure manufacturer pages for Redwood using business rules.
Access Control Lists:
In the previous update, the security on manufacturers was enhanced by leveraging access control lists. You could create a permission set that identified the object for which the permission is given, the conditions that must be met, and the type of access to be granted.
You can now control access to manufacturer attribute groups by selecting the groups a team can access in the Access To column on the New Permission Set page.
-
You can control access to attribute groups when using the View and Manage permissions.
-
You can’t control access to attribute groups when using the Create permission.
-
For information on access control lists, refer to the feature Redwood: Secure Manufacturers Using Access Control Lists.

Configure Manufacturer Redwood Page Using Business Rules:
Redwood applications provide a comprehensive set of features designed to meet a wide range of business requirements. However, you can still make changes to your application to best fit your specific business needs. You can create business rules for manufacturers in Express Mode.
You can configure fields and regions to control their display and default values. This allows you to:
-
Leverage delivered best practices, or to create your own rules based on various criteria, such as country and business unit.
-
Make fields and regions required or optional, read-only or editable, and show or hide fields and regions depending on specific criteria.
-
Set default field values.
You can also author validation rules to ensure data quality.
Configure Manufacturer Pages Using Business Rules
Here are the benefits of these enhancements:
- Your enterprise can now enhance control on manufacturers by allowing attribute-based conditional access to view and manage manufacturer attribute groups.
- Business rules allow for a configurable user interface where you can default attribute values, hide or unhide fields and regions depending on criteria, and set validation rules for data quality.
- The introduction of additional manufacturer attributes allows for supplementary details to be tracked and viewed at a glance for your manufacturers.
Steps to Enable
You must grant access to manufacturer attribute groups. Here’s how:

- On the Scheduled Processes Overview page, click the Schedule New Process button.
