Default Subinventory and Locator if an Item Is Only Assigned to a Single Location

In some warehouses or stockrooms, you may store your items in a static location and never move them around or deviate them from their assigned storage location. To help track these assignments, you can assign the items to their designated subinventories and locators using the item subinventory and item locator associations on the Configure Subinventories page. Previously, to make it easier for your warehouse operators in this type of environment, you also had to create item transaction defaults so that the assigned subinventory or locator would default into the subinventory and locator fields on the transaction pages. Now, the application will default the subinventory for a transaction if the item is associated to only one subinventory within the organization without any defined item transaction defaults. Similarly, the application will default the locator for a transaction after a subinventory is defaulted, or selected if an item is assigned to more than one subinventory in an organization, without any defined item transaction defaults. This behavior is currently only applicable to existing transactions that already use item transaction defaults.

The association of an item with a subinventory and locator defaults the subinventory and locator on the mobile Miscellaneous Transactions page. The defaulting of the subinventory and locator happens only when the miscellaneous transaction flow is initiated by an item.
