Use Extended Precision for Price and Quantity in Requisitions

Use extended precision for the Price and Quantity fields in the Redwood Self Service Procurement application.

Price Precision:

You can now enter a price using either the minimum currency precision (defined for that currency) or up to a maximum of 10 decimal places. The extended precision of the currency doesn't affect how the price is displayed in the application. If you input more than 10 decimal places, the application will round the value to 10 decimal places.

*The minimum number of decimal places displayed for price on the UI is determined by the precision of the currency. The maximum allowed number of decimal places for price on the UI is 10. The extended precision of the currency doesn't influence how the price is shown on the UI.

**The displayed number of decimals for amount (including subtotal, transaction currency amounts, and tax) is based on currency precision.

The various price attributes included are:

  • Price (Functional Currency)
  • Price (Transactional Currency)
  • Price defaulted from a master item
  • Price defaulted from an agreement line
  • Transfer Price defaulted

The pages where these are displayed are:

  • Create and Edit Non Catalog Request
  • Create and Edit Smart Form Request
  • Enter Requisition Line
  • Edit Line Details
  • Shopping Cart (Card View and Table View)
  • View Requisition Details (Lines view) & View Line Details (Line Details Drawer)
  • Shopping Search Results (Card View and Table View)
  • Shopping Lists
  • Product Details (for Agreement Lines and Item Master related prices, Transfer Prices)
  • My Requisitions
  • Distributions

Quantity Precision:

You can specify quantities with a maximum precision of 12 digits on these pages.

  • Product Details
  • Shopping Lists
  • Shopping Cart
  • Requisition Details
  • Search Results (Table view)

Other pages in the application support these precision requirements already.

The amounts are calculated based on price and quantity while considering the supported precision values.

Here's an illustration of both quantity and price precision used in the shopping cart.

Offering: Procurement

If you want to use the Use Extended Precision for Price and Quantity in Requisitions feature, then you must opt in to one or both of these features:

  • Enable the Redwood Version as the Default Self Service Procurement Application: Makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to all your users, and hides the Purchase Requisitions work area from all your users.
  • Procure Goods and Services Using the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application: Keeps the Purchase Requisitions work area available to all your users, and makes the Purchase Requisitions (New) work area available to the users who are assigned this privilege: Manage Requisition with the Redwood Self Service Procurement Application (POR_MANAGE_REQ_WITH_PWA_PRIV).

If you’ve already opted in, then you don’t have to opt in again.

Tips And Considerations

  • Any values you enter beyond the maximum supported precision will be rounded off to the allowed limits. This applies to both the Price and Quantity fields.
  • The functional price, which is converted from the transaction currency-based price, will be rounded according to the currency precision.
