Edit Activities in Bulk Using FBDI

You can now use file-based data import (FBDI) to edit sustainability activities in bulk. You can also validate, post to ledger, and cancel activities in bulk.

Edit Activities

To edit an activity set the Action column to UPDATE and enter values for the the following columns:

• Interface Activity Key
• Batch ID
• Activity Number
• Corresponding columns that need to be updated

For example, to edit the period for a set of activities, enter the Interface Activity Key, Batch ID, Activity Number, the new period, and set the action to UPDATE on each activity.

Sustainability Activities Worksheet - Columns to Update

To edit measures or emissions for an activity, you must first enter values for the following columns on the Sustainability Activities worksheet:

• Interface Activity Key
• Batch ID
• Activity Number
• Action (must be UPDATE)

Then, on the Measures or Emissions worksheet, enter the same interface activity key that you entered on the Sustainability Activities worksheet. In addition, enter UPDATE in the Action column, and then enter the values to be updated in the corresponding columns.

For example, to edit the measure quantity on an existing activity, enter the Interface Activity Key, Batch ID, Activity Number and UPDATE as the Action on the Sustainability Activities worksheet. On the Measures worksheet, enter the same interface key entered on the first tab, UPDATE as the action, the existing Measure Type, and the new Measure quantity for the activity.

Validate, Post to Ledger, or Cancel Activities in Bulk

You can perform the following actions in bulk by using the Sustainability Activities Import FBDI template:

• Validate - To validate an activity and identify any validation errors. (Note: only activities in Draft status can be validated.)
• Post - Post an activity to the sustainability ledger. (Note: only activities in Draft status can be posted to the sustainability ledger.)
• Cancel - Cancel an activity that is already posted. (Note: Posted activities can be canceled only if the period associated with the posted activity is still open.)

To perform any of the preceding bulk actions, enter the action to be performed in the Action column and then enter the activity number.

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

• Download and review the latest Sustainability Activity Import template from Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM File-Based Data Import (FBDI) for SCM guide, available on the Oracle Help Center. To import data using the template, follow the instructions in the "Load Data into Tables" topic.
• For better management, use only one action (Create, Update, Delete, Validate, Post, or Cancel) in a single spreadsheet upload.
• Before uploading the FBDI template in Fusion Applications, perform the following checks:
  • Activity number should be unique in the worksheet.
  • Activity number you are trying to update, delete, validate, post, or cancel must already exist in the application.
  • If you are updating measures, then the measure type must already exist in the application against the activity you are trying to update.
  • If you are updating emissions, then the emission type must already exist in the application against the activity you are trying to update.
