Redwood: Reserve and Liquidate Funds and Encumbrances for Change Orders Using the Current Budget Date
You can now reserve and liquidate funds and encumbrances for change orders using the current budget date instead of the budget date originally used for funds reservation. This ensures that change orders can be processed as long as the current period remains open and the control budgets are active.
This screen capture illustrates the feature. In this example, a change order to increase the reserved funds from $100 to $120 was created with a budget date of 7/11/11.

The screen capture illustrates the encumbrance accounting for the same change order. Note that two separate accounting entries with accounting date of 7/11/11 are created.
