Redwood: Set Effective Dates for Configurator Rules

Manage effective dates on configurator rules to specify when you want your new or updated rule to go into effect. Plan and set up rules long before you need to implement them. Control when rules are available in your configurator models.

Realize these benefits:

  • Improve planning and flexibility. Schedule rule changes so they align with your product launch, seasonal update, or business cycle.
  • Reduce errors and rework. You no longer have to manually update your rule on the date you need it. Instead, specify the start date, and Oracle Configurator will start using it on that date.
  • Get more control. Manage the exact date and time of when you want changes to go into effect.

Steps to Enable

If you want to use the Redwood: Set Effective Dates for Configurator Rules feature, then you must opt in to the parent Redwood: Author Configurator Rules in Product Management feature. If you already opted in to the parent, then you don’t have to opt in again.

Tips And Considerations

You can set a configurator rule’s start date only to a future date. You can't set it to a date in the past.
