Redwood: Author Configurator Rules in Product Management

Create, edit, and test configurator rules while you manage an item's structural details in the Product Information Management work area. Use an intuitive IF Then structure and numeric rules on redesigned pages to set up your rules.

Starting in update 25D, you can now use logic rules on redesigned pages in the Product Information Management work the same way that you used constraint rules on the classic pages in the Configurator Models work area. For example, use REQUIRES, IMPLIES, NEGATES, and EXCLUDES operators from the constraint definition language (CDL) just like you did on the classic pages.

Realize these benefits:

  • Improve efficiency. Manage configurator rules in a single work area. You can now create, edit, and test your rules directly in the Product Information Management work area instead of managing them separately in the Configurator Models work area.
  • Reduce training and support cost. The redesigned pages are more intuitive and usable to folks with a wider skillset.
  • Manage your configurator rules from a single location.

Use numeric formula rules to make your configuration more accurate. Drag and drop components directly onto your rule, then use the new contributesTo operator to replace the CDL rules that used the Add. . .To keywords. contributesTo can calculate a component's quantity in each configuration:
