Redwood: Set up Supplier and Customer Collaboration Messaging Using a Redwood Page

Use the B2B Documents task to set up default B2B connections for outbound order forecasts and supply forecasts. Collaboration messaging can now use the default settings to route messages, eliminating the need to configure connection details for each customer and supplier.

Here are the messages covered by this feature:

  • Supply Planning Data - Inbound
  • Order Forecast - Outbound
  • Order Forecast Commit - Inbound
  • Order Forecast - Inbound
  • Supply Forecast - Outbound

You can reduce the setup time by defining a default connection for each outbound document and getting partner identification from the message payload. If you're using a single service provider, there is no other customer or supplier specific setup required to send order forecasts or supply forecasts.

Steps to enable and configure

Enable the feature Simplify Configuration and Processing for B2B Messaging to access this functionality.

If you have enabled the feature prior to this release, you'll need to run the scheduled process Maintain Collaboration Messaging Data and select Migrate additional documents for simplified B2B messaging. This process will migrate and enable all documents with transactions in the last 90 days. If there aren’t any, you have to enable the documents you need manually, by going to the B2B Documents page.

Perform the following high-level tasks to set up your documents:

  1. Define your providers (direct and service providers).
  2. Configure your delivery methods.
  3. Create connections.
  4. Assign connections and properties to your documents.

Default and Supplier Connection

Default and Supplier Connection

  1. When Supply Forecast – Outbound is selected on the B2B Documents page, the Assign Connections page will display Customer Connections instead of Supplier Connections.
  2. You can’t assign connections to inbound documents, but you must have active connections and partner properties for each of your inbound documents.

Set Up B2B Partner Properties

In addition to adding partner properties for your Supply Planning, Order Forecast, and Order Forecast Commit inbound documents, you can also define them for the following use cases:

  • Associate domain value maps.
  • When you are using a service provider and you haven’t configured the document property to get partner identification from payload for your outbound documents, you need to add B2B properties to define partner information.
  • When the Order Forecast Commit – Inbound document includes an Application Partner Code value.

Here’s how you add Supplier B2B properties:

  1. Select Partners from the in-app navigation bar.
  2. On the Supplier B2B Properties tab, click Add.
  3. Enter the details in the Add supplier B2B properties drawer.

Tips and considerations

  • The Supply Forecast – Outbound message requires either a default connection or a customer connection. If no partner identification has been entered from the payload, it would also require customer B2B properties.
  • The Order Forecast – Outbound message requires either a default connection or a supplier connection. If no partner identification has been entered from payload, it would also require supplier B2B properties.
  • The Supply Planning Data – Inbound and Order Forecast Commit – Inbound messages both require supplier B2B properties.
  • The Order Forecast – Inbound message requires customer B2B properties.
