Enable intra-organizational material transfers for transfer supply requests originating from Self Service Procurement
Oracle Supply Chain Orchestration now provides supply source recommendations that enable both intra-organizational and inter-organizational material transfers for transfer supply requests originating from Oracle Fusion Cloud Self Service Procurement. This capability allows users to identify optimal supply sources across inventory organizations within the same organization, as well as across different organizations, improving fulfillment flexibility, inventory utilization, and sourcing efficiency.
Get these benefits:
- Expand sourcing options by considering eligible supply within the destination organization and across other organizations.
- Improve fulfillment flexibility by identifying valid intra-organizational and inter-organizational supply sources in one recommendation process.
- Help procurement users find supply sources without needing to determine whether the material can be fulfilled within the same organization or from another organization.
- Improve inventory utilization by considering available supply in the destination organization.
- Support efficient replenishment for healthcare organizations that need to source materials across a complex inventory network.
Improve inventory utilization and fulfillment flexibility by considering eligible supply within the destination organization as well as across organizations. You can find suitable supply sources more efficiently, particularly for healthcare inventory needs.
How it works:
When you create an inventory destination requisition in Oracle Self Service Procurement, Supply Chain Orchestration provides supply source recommendations for the transfer supply request.
With the opt-in Transfer Items Within the Same Organization for Inventory Destination Requisitions enabled, Supply Chain Orchestration evaluates the destination organization as an additional potential source of supply. It validates whether the destination organization can supply the requested item by using the applicable item and organization attributes in Product Information Management.
If the destination organization is a valid source, Supply Chain Orchestration returns it as an intra-organizational supply source recommendation and places it last in the supply recommendations.
Supply Chain Orchestration continues to return eligible supply sources from other organizations. You can therefore review both intra-organizational and inter-organizational supply options without determining in advance where the material can be fulfilled.
Steps to enable and configure
To use this feature in Supply Chain Orchestration, you will opt in to the Transfer Items Within the Same Organization for Inventory Destination Requisitions in Oracle Fusion Cloud Procurement.
Tips and considerations
- Enable the Transfer Items Within the Same Organization for Inventory Destination Requisitions opt-in to include intra-organizational sources in Supply Chain Orchestration recommendations.
- Supply Chain Orchestration recommends the destination organization as a source only when it meets the applicable item and organization validation requirements in Product Information Management.
- When the destination organization is eligible, the intra-organizational source appears last in the supply recommendations.
- Eligible inter-organizational supply sources continue to be included in the recommendations and retain their existing priority order.
- This feature applies only to transfer supply requests created from Oracle Self Service Procurement inventory destination requisitions.
