Support minimum remaining shelf life for back-to-back transfer and on hand flows

Oracle Supply Chain Orchestration now supports minimum remaining shelf life in back-to-back fulfillment flows. Minimum remaining shelf life requirements received as part of back-to-back supply recommendations are automatically propagated to Oracle Fusion Cloud Inventory Management during transfer order and reservation creation processes. This enhancement helps ensure that reserved and transferred inventory meets shelf life requirements, improving inventory quality, and fulfillment accuracy. Minimum remaining shelf life support is currently available for transfer order and on hand supply scenarios within back-to-back fulfillment flows.

Improve fulfillment accuracy by reserving and transferring inventory that meets the required shelf life. This helps you reduce the risk of using inventory that does not meet customer, contractual, or regulatory requirements.

How it works:
Start the back-to-back fulfillment flow by creating a sales order in Oracle Fusion Cloud Order Management. Oracle Global Order Promising calculates the Minimum Remaining Shelf Life Days from Ship Date value when it creates the supply recommendation and sends the value to Supply Chain Orchestration.

Supply Chain Orchestration passes the value to Oracle Inventory Management when it creates the transfer order and reservation. If a sales order date or quantity changes, Global Order Promising recalculates the minimum remaining shelf life requirement and sends the updated value to Supply Chain Orchestration. Supply Chain Orchestration then updates the associated transfer order and reservation with the revised value.
If the transfer order quantity is reduced, or if the transfer order or reservation is canceled, Supply Chain Orchestration requests alternate supply from Global Order Promising. When Global Order Promising identifies alternate transfer supply, it honors the minimum remaining shelf life requirement. Supply Chain Orchestration creates the replacement transfer order and records the applicable Minimum Remaining Shelf Life Days from Ship Date value on the replacement transfer order.

If the requested delivery date for a transfer order is moved later, Supply Chain Orchestration records a Supply Date Pushed Out exception and sends the exception to Oracle Order Management. The order manager can then take the appropriate corrective action.

This support is available only for transfer order and on hand supply scenarios in back-to-back fulfillment flows. 

Steps to enable and configure

Follow these steps to enable this feature: 
1. In the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management offering, enable the specify minimum shelf life controls for Perishable Items feature. 
2. Use the Configure Remaining Shelf Life Rule task to define the applicable minimum remaining shelf life rules.

• The specify minimum shelf life controls for perishable items feature must be enabled in the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management offering.
• The Configure Remaining Shelf Life Rule task defines the applicable minimum remaining shelf life rules.
• Global Order Promising calculates the Minimum Remaining Shelf Life Days from Ship Date value using the applicable remaining shelf life rules.
• The requirement can change when the sales order is rescheduled and Global Order Promising returns a revised value.
• This release supports back-to-back transfer order and on hand supply scenarios.
