Service Usage Metrics: Relative threshold-based Sessions usage alerting.

With the new enhancement, relative threshold-based alerting, admins can define a percentage for consideration as a surge making it easier for admins to configure the alerts where the Sessions usage grows continuously. Here, the admins could account for the usage growth rate while configuring the alerts. The option is available under the sessions usage alerts feature of the Service Usage Metrics (SUM) Dashboard.

Relative Threshold Field in Configuration UI

Example:

Admin configures a monthly alert with 5% as the relative threshold. Now, the alerts will be triggered if the current month's usage exceeds 5% more than the previous month's usage. That is, if the previous month's usage was 100 sessions, then the alert will be triggered if the current month's usage exceeds 105 sessions. The threshold check happens at a fixed time of day, hence there would be a delay in receiving the alerts compared to the data updates in the sessions usage report.

Business Value:

Surge-based alerting: This enhancement provides an option to receive alerts based on a sudden surge
