Support Depot Repair and Part Exchange in SR Part Orders

In the Redwood user experience, you can now create depot repair and part exchange orders in the part orders area of a service request. This also allows you to not only create depot repair orders but also drill into the Depot Repair Workbench from the service request part orders if required to perform additional tasks.

When managing the service for an asset, you may need to have your customers send the asset back to a depot for repair then sent back to them. This feature supports the ability to create these type of depot repair orders. It also supports having customers send assets back and sending out an exchange part when the part with an issue will not be returned to the customer.

Steps to Enable

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

Tips And Considerations

To use service request part orders, which is an embedded flow leveraging order management from Service Logistics, you first must opt-in to part orders. If you've already opted-in service request part orders, there is nothing required; you will now be able to create depot repair and part exchange orders along with sales and return orders. To opt-in, do the following:

  1. Login to Fusion Service with a user that has the privileges to access Fusion Setup and Maintenance
  2. Select the Service offering
  3. Select the "Change Feature Opt In"
  4. Select Features for Service
  5. Select enable for the "Service Logistics Parts Order
  6. Select Service Request Part Order
  7. Select "Save and Close"

You will also need to perform all the required service logistics and supply chain setup for inventory and order management to create orders.

For a user to be able to create sales orders, depot repair orders and exchange part orders, the following privileges are required:
