One of your ideas has been delivered from your suggestion.Service Point Consumption Extracts

Service Point Consumption Extracts allows users to extract measurement data for a group of service points. This group will usually be based on account, customer name, or address. For example, export usage data for all the Walmart stores in the area.

Users will be able to specify details on the types of data to extract including units of measure, interval length (when applicable), and other measurement attributes. Note that when extracting interval data, the extract can transform interval lengths by rolling up intervals, like 5-minute interval data to 15-minute data but it does not support rolling-down data like converting hourly interval data to 5-minute data.

The user's request will start a batch job to extract the usage to Oracle Object Storage or a file directory in a CSV format. This CSV format can easily be imported into a spreadsheet software. A batch job is needed due to the volume and time it takes to process interval data.

External URL attachments linking to extract files are created on the Request for each extract.

Service Point Consumption Extracts are needed for contract renewal, pricing analysis, consumer queries, billing addendums, and many other use cases. Due to the volume and complexity of interval data, this functionality is difficult and expensive to build on a project. By providing this standard feature, customers will save a significant amount of time and money.

Steps to enable and configure

Complete these steps:

  1. Configure a new File Storage Location using the File Storage Configuration Extendable Lookup, this is where the extracted data will be placed.
  2. Create a new Request Type using the SP Measurement Extract Request Type, this will leverage the File Storage Location.
  3. Create a new Entity Group using the "Service Point Measurement Extract Group" option.
  4. Using the Customer Address Search for Grouping zone search for and assign the service points whose data should be extracted
  5. Add a new request using the Request Type added in Step 2 and supplying the Entity Group created in Step 3. This request when saved will start the process for extracting the usage data.
