Portal Banners
Redwood allows for important notes about the content to be highlighted on a page. This capability is supported for any portal. While this enhancement aligns with Redwood guidelines, it is supported also in classic UI display mode.
A new Portal Banners portal option type allows a script to compose the list of messages in various severity level to be presented on a portal. The option is defined for the main tab of the portal and applies to the entire page. For example, a customer dashboard may show a banner message alerting the agent of an existing outage along with the ability to view outage details in a drawer.
The following describe important aspects of portal banner functionality:
- A banner message may optionally include actions that allow the user to navigate to another page or launch a drawer for more information.
- Up to three banners are displayed. If more exist, a "view more" action is available to view all in a drawer.
- A banner can be temporarily closed while staying on the current page but navigating back to the page redisplays the banners.
The product provides a generic 'Portal Banners by Insight Class - F1BannesInst' script that composes messages based on insights associated with an insight class for a given context. This allows banners to be configurable by the customer.
Highlighting important messages as banners on a portal increases visibility into these situations.
