Conversion Control of Entity Validation Rules

Previously, there was no way to indicate that a entity validation rule is not applicable when the entity is added as part of conversion. Now the validate entity conversion batch process sets an indication available to validation rules, that they are being called as part of a conversion process. This allows a validation algorithm to skip some rules when called as part of conversion. Refer to online help for more information.

Allowing entity validation algorithms to skip rules that are not applicable when the entity is converted improves the quality and performance of the conversion process.

Steps to enable and configure

If you need to add configuration or prerequisite steps, add them below.

If a custom validation algorithm includes rules that are not applicable when the entity is converted, you can use the new indication to skip them when the algorithm is called from the entity validation batch process.
