Support Exporting Data to Oracle Location Only

Previously, certain batch programs related to data extracts included support via a parameter to copy the data to an Oracle location so that the data could be used for analytics purposes. This support was in addition to sending the extracted data to your external location for your own purposes. You now have the configuration option to copy data to only the Oracle location. This satisfies use cases where you are not using the data in a third party application for your own purposes and only sharing this data with Oracle for analytics.

You no longer need to perform the unnecessary step of configuring a batch job to send to your extract location and to Oracle's extract location when the data is only needed in the Oracle extract location.

Steps to enable and configure

To use this feature on any batch control that supports Copy to Oracle, you simply need to enter the mnemonic %ORACLE% in the File Path or File Location parameter (instead of configuring your file location in this parameter). If the batch control supports a separate Copy to Oracle parameter, you can ignore this parameter.

No change in practice is needed if you want to extract data for your own location and also share with Oracle. In this case, you would populate the File Path or File Location parameter with your file location reference as usual and then use the Copy to Oracle parameter to indicate that you are also sharing the data with Oracle.
