Create or Edit a Consequence
To create a consequence, open the Manage Consequences page and click Create Consequence. To edit a consequence, select its row in the Manage Consequences page and click Edit. Then:
- Enter or modify a name and a description. These describe how the consequence expresses the impact of events it's related to.
- Select or modify an impact model and value, which express the severity of the
consequence.
- You can select any impact model. However, a consequence is indirectly related to a risk. (It's directly related to an event, which is related to the risk.) So it's recommended that you select an impact model used in the analysis of a related risk. That way you maintain consistency in the terminology that applies to the consequence and to the risk analysis.
- The impact value you select for a consequence is essentially a label. It plays no part in the calculation of the overall risk rating returned by risk analysis.
- If descriptive flexfield segments have been defined for consequences, these appear as fields in an Additional Information panel. Provide values for these fields.
- In a Related Events panel, view events the consequence applies to. You can relate a consequence to an event only as you create or edit the event. Values appear here only after events have been created or edited to include this consequence.
