Save or Submit Objects
As you create or edit an object, you may save it or submit it. Either action preserves the values you've selected for it. Beyond that, however, the two actions have different effects.
-
When you submit an object, you advance it to a state beyond the one you opened it in. So submitting an object places it in a state that enables other users in your workflow to see it. Submit an object when it's ready for use by others.
-
When you save an object, you leave it at the state you opened it in or, if you're creating it, set its state to New. In either case, it remains available to you. Save an object if you intend to work on it further before making it available to others.
Although you may save an object at first, your final action should be to submit it so that it's active in your system.
