How can I change dates for rules and their assignments?

Credit and rollup rules form hierarchies and are assigned to credit receivers. Classification rules form a hierarchy and are assigned credit categories.

You must end date assignments and rules in the correct sequence to avoid errors such as: The assignment start date must be later than or equal to the rule start date. For example, you want to end date the credit rule North American now, June 30. The rule is assigned to Mike Jones. It also has a child rule United States that's assigned to John Smith. The rules and assignments are currently end dated at the end of the year.

Start with the lowest level child rule and change the assignment date, then the date for the rule in the Overview tab. Now you can move to the parent rule and change the assignment date, then the date for the rule. To fix the example, first change credit receiver John Smith's assignment end date to June 30, then the United States credit rule end date. Now you can address North America by end dating credit receiver Mike Jones, then end date North America.
