How do I create an account - from scratch or from an existing sales account, supplier, partner, or a financial customer?
If you are using Oracle Financials, you may already have financial customer (Buying Customer) records that were created for Fusion Order Management (FOM) orders. In Oracle Sales, you can convert these financial customer account records into sales accounts. These records become dual usage party records. For example, when an order is placed directly from a company commerce website, Sold To party is created as a financial customer account (Buying Customer). Later a sales representative decides to pursue this financial customer account and creates a sales account. This also helps you to prevent creating duplicate sales accounts.
Similarly, you can copy supplier and partner records as accounts. This helps you to connect a Sales Account (customer) to Partner and Supplier organizations to provide a consolidated 360 view for sellers.
Prerequisites

Optionally, enable the Organization Links Enabled (ORA_HZ_OPT_IN_ORG_LINK) profile option:
- Click work area.
- Click the Tasks menu and click Search. Search for Manage Administrator Profile Values task and open it.

Search using the profile option code ORA_HZ_OPT_IN_ORG_LINK.
- Change the profile value.
Here's how you create a sales account:
- Go to .
- Click Create Account.
- Specify a name and click Create. All existing sales accounts and financial
customer accounts that match the name are displayed.
- To use an existing sales account:
- Click the account and click View Details.
- Click Details.
- Edit as required and click Save.
- To use an existing financial customer account:
- Click the financial customer account and click Convert to Account. This financial customer account is now also a sales account.
- Click Details.
- Edit as required and click Save.
- To use an existing supplier or partner:
- If you have set the profile value of the profile option
Organization Links Enabled (ORA_HZ_OPT_IN_ORG_LINK) to Y, do
this:
- Click any partner or supplier and click Copy.
- Click Save and Link.
This creates a sales account and links the supplier or partner with the new sales account.
- If you set the profile value of the profile option
Organization Links Enabled (ORA_HZ_OPT_IN_ORG_LINK) to N, do
this:
- Click any partner or supplier and click Convert to Account.
- Click Details.
- Edit as required and click Save.
- If you have set the profile value of the profile option
Organization Links Enabled (ORA_HZ_OPT_IN_ORG_LINK) to Y, do
this:
- To create a new sales account:
- Click Create without selecting any existing sales account or financial customer account and provide the details of the account.
- Click Save.
The new account is displayed on the My Accounts page.
- To use any existing record of type Other:
- Click the Other record and click Convert to Account.
- Click Details.
- Edit as required and click Save.
