How can I translate my extensions for Oracle Sales in the Redwood User Experience?

Oracle provides language packs that, when installed, provide the translations to users' preferred languages. For translating extensions, several tools are involved:

  • Oracle Visual Builder Studio's Translations pane, supports the translation of UI strings in your extensions, including those imported from CX Extension Generator. For details, see the Work with Translations topics in the Extending Oracle Cloud Applications with Visual Builder Studio guide. The Translate Strings for Redwood UI Extensions video on Oracle Cloud Customer Connect walks you through an example.

  • To translate Smart Action, Field, and Object names that are defined in Application Composer, use the User Interface Text tool in Application Composer. For details, see the topic How do I modify text using the User Interface Text tool?.

  • To translate Sales Methods, Sales Stages, and Message Templates used by Routines and Orchestration you create the initial records in English. You then set your personal language profile to the desired language and edit those same records, replacing the English text with your translations. When you save, you're actually saving the edited text into the language you selected for your session.

You must install the language pack for the language you're translating to ahead of time.
