How do I create a DaaS instance and enable OAuth in my Oracle Cloud service?

To ensure secure access for your users, you can create a Data as a Service (DaaS) instance and configure OAuth in Oracle Cloud applications.

Create a DaaS Instance

Here's how you create a DaaS instance:

  1. Sign in to your Oracle Cloud account that's subscribed to DaaS.
  2. Navigate to Subscriptions > Oracle Data as a Service.
  3. Click Go to service.
  4. Click Environments and then click Create.
  5. Enter the instance name and administrator email and then click Create.

Configure OAuth Security

Next, configure OAuth security for your instance:

  1. Navigate to Navigator > Identity and Security > Domains.
  2. Click the Default domain.
  3. Select the Integrated applications tab and click Add application.
  4. Select Confidential Application and click Launch workflow.
  5. Enter the application name and click Submit.
  6. Click the OAuth configuration tab.
  7. Click Edit OAuth Configuration.
    1. Select Configure this application as a client now in Client Configuration.
    2. Select Resource owner, Client credentials and Refresh token in the Allowed grant types section.
  8. You can activate it as the Client id and the Client secret are generated. Navigate to Actions and click Activate.
