How do I create task layouts in Oracle Sales for Outlook?

To create task layouts in Oracle Sales for Outlook, it is recommended that you make these changes in a sandbox before publishing it, see Create and Activate Sandboxes. Ensure that you’ve enabled Application Composer for your sandbox.

Create Task Layouts

  1. Navigate to Tools > Application Composer > Productivity Applications Setup > Oracle Sales for Outlook.
  2. Go to Task > Edit.
  3. Click next to the Task Edit default layout.
  4. Enter the layout name, for example ‘AccountType’ and select it. This layout will be active, if the status is In progress.
  5. In the application layout, click Add Field.
  6. Search for and select AccountType.
  7. To configure the layout change when the status is In progress.
    1. Click Advanced Criteria.
    2. Click Add Criteria.
    3. Select Status in the Field dropdown.
    4. Select Equal to in the Operator dropdown.
    5. Select In progress in the Value dropdown.
  8. Save your changes.

To create further layouts:

  1. In the Oracle Sales for Outlook tab, go to Task > Edit.
  2. Click next to the Task Edit default layout.
  3. Enter the layout name, for example ‘Custom Layout 2’ and select it.
  4. In the application layout, click Add Field.
  5. Search for and select SubType.
  6. To configure the layout change when the status is Complete.
    1. Go to Advanced Criteria > Add Criteria.
    2. Select Status in the Field dropdown.
    3. Select Equal to in the Operator dropdown.
    4. Select Complete in the Value dropdown.
  7. Save your changes.

Validate your Changes in Oracle Sales for Outlook

  1. In Outlook, select a mail and open Oracle Sales for Outlook plug-in.
  2. Sign in to Oracle Sales.
  3. Go to More Options > Create Follow Up.
  4. Select In progress in Status. 'Custom Layout 1' should be displayed.
  5. Select Complete in Status. 'Custom Layout 2' should be displayed.
