How do I make an employee a sales resource?
An employee must be a sales resource before they can be assigned to any role or be added to any organization.
Employees or workers are created in HCM. You can then create a resource for the existing worker once it exists in HCM and has been synchronized to party data. You can create a resource and resource organization (optional) using resource user REST API, resource import, or the Resource Directory UI. However, these tools, that is, the resource user REST API or Import Management, or the Resource Directory UI shouldn't be used to create a resource for a worker that doesn't exist in HCM.
After making an employee as a sales resource, you can manage the resource's organization membership, add or remove skills of the resource, provide contact information, and so on. If you have an employee who needs to be a sales resource, perform these steps:

Navigate to the Resource Directory.

Click Identify Resources in the Tasks region.

On the Identify Resources page, fill in the Person Name or Registry ID. You don't need to enter the complete name. The application automatically searches for any characters entered, even if it's only a single character.

Select
Employee
as the Usage and click Search. -
Select the employee and click Add as Resource.

Click OK on the confirmation message.
The employee is now also a sales resource.

On the Add Resource Information page, in the Resource Details section, specify dates for the resource.

Select the Organization and the Role that you want to assign to the resource.

Optionally, in the Sales Person Information section, specify additional information about the resource.

Click Save and Close.
