What determines which task and appointment notifications salespeople receive?

Task and appointment notifications both through the Notifications (Bell icon) and Things to Finish are controlled by profile options that you can set both at site and user levels. For example, to have salespeople notified when they're added to an appointment as a resource, you set the profile option Appointment Resource Notifications (ZMM_ACTIVITY_APPT_NOTIF_RESOURCE) to Yes. You can enable notifications for everyone by selecting Yes at the site level, or notify specific individuals you enter.

Here's how to obtain a list of the profile options and set them:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, open the Manage Administrator Profile Values task:
    • Offering: Sales
    • Functional Area: Sales Foundation
    • Task: Manage Administrator Profile Values
  2. In the Search section, Profile Option Code field, enter ZMM_ACTIVITY%_NOTIF% and click Search.

    The application displays a list of profile options that you can set to control notifications for tasks and appointments.
