What's LDAP authentication?

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is an internet protocol used to access information directories. It lets users access centrally stored information over a network. There are several process that are run by your security administrator to authenticate and manage the entries and attributes in a directory.

For example, run the Retrieve Latest LDAP Changes scheduled process once during implementation. This process copies data from the LDAP directory to the Oracle Fusion Applications Security tables. Thereafter, the data is synchronized automatically.

The Send Pending LDAP Requests process sends bulk requests and future-dated requests that are active to your LDAP directory. It's recommended that you schedule the Send Pending LDAP Requests process to run daily.

See the Why You Run the Send Pending LDAP Requests Process and the Synchronize Your Sales Application with the LDAP Directory from the Securing Applications guide for more information.
