Refresh Sales Forecast Dimensions

Use the Refresh Sales Forecast Dimensions scheduled process to refresh the sales forecast dimensions (for example, resources, territories, product groups and revenue category types) and related metrics based on changes to the corresponding source records.

When to Use

  • This scheduled process refreshes sales forecast dimensions and related metrics based on changes to the corresponding source records, ensuring near real-time updates for Forecasting for Redwood UX users.
  • Run it after changes to source data that impact forecast dimensions (for example, product or other dimension updates) so users see current values in Redwood UX.
  • If you use Forecast by Opportunity Revenue type, run this process directly after a full run of the opportunity territory assignment process.

  • Be aware of alignment changes, that is, if more than 10% of resources or territories have changed or moved due to a major alignment, this process will display an error. In such cases, run the Generate Sales Forecast Metrics process.

Before You Start

Review the following before scheduling this scheduled process:

  • Recommended Frequency:

    • Recommended: Once per day for most environments to keep dimensions and related metrics current.

    • Default: Runs automatically every week on Saturdays at 2:00 AM UTC if not otherwise scheduled.
    • Off-peak hours are generally preferred; the default 2:00 AM UTC cadence suggests an off-peak window. If you need near real-time reflection, schedule daily or after key upstream jobs complete (for example, after opportunity territory assignment when using Forecast by Opportunity Revenue type).
  • Execution Time:

    • Processing time varies based on the number of opportunities and territories or resources.
  • Compatibility:
    • You can't run more than one instance of this scheduled process.
    • You can't run any other sales forecast processes in parallel with this scheduled process.

Parameters

None.

Troubleshooting Information

  • If the process errors due to significant alignment changes (>10% of resources or territories changed), first run the Generate Sales Forecast Metrics process, then rerun Refresh Sales Forecast Dimensions.
  • To ensure latest values appear for Redwood UX users, rerun the process after upstream updates (for example, after opportunity territory assignment when applicable) and validate that dimensions/related metrics reflect changes in the application.
  • Monitor run status and set success/ error/ warning notifications using the Notifications tab when scheduling in Scheduled Processes.
