Overview of Configuring Data Enrichment

You can use Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) for Sales to enrich your account and contact data.

Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) gets the most up-to-date data for over 300 million companies and over 100 million contacts worldwide.

Data enrichment improves the quality of your existing account and contact data, and it also enriches the data with additional information. Sales representatives can enrich accounts and contacts in real-time in Sales, and data stewards can enrich data in bulk in CDM, using either batch data enrichment in the Data Enrichment work area or manually using bulk import and export. Additionally, you can download new account and contact data from Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B).

How you Configure Batch Data Enrichment

The batch data enrichment option lets you enrich data in bulk by creating and submitting batch-processing jobs in the Data Enrichment work area. Configuring this enrichment process flow requires the completion of the following set-up steps:

  1. Create a Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) user and assign appropriate privileges.

  2. Configure Oracle CX Sales and Fusion Service to Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) integration.

Here are the steps that you can follow to configure Customer Data Management Cloud to Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet Integration to do batch data enrichment in the Data Enrichment work area. Note that we use Manage Data Enrichment Integration task instead of the Manage Integration with Oracle Data as a Service task for configuring enrichment. The Manage Integration with Oracle Data as a Service task isn’t supported in later releases.

  1. Sign in to Customer Data Management Cloud as a setup user.

  2. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance.

  3. Click the Tasks side panel to open it, and click Search.

  4. Search for and go to the task: Manage Data Enrichment Integration.

  5. Enter the following information on the Manage Data Enrichment Integration:

    Select OAuth Authentication on the DaaS Credentials section.

    For information about adding a confidential application and getting the Client ID and Secret, see Add a Confidential Application topic in the Administering Oracle Identity Cloud Service guide.

    Note: On the Client page of the Add Confidential Application wizard, in the Authorization section, select Resource Owner, Client Credentials, Authorization Code, and Refresh Token as Allowed Grant Types. Leave Redirect URL blank.
    Note: We strongly recommend that you use OAuth authentication method because Basic authentication isn’t supported in later releases. If you use Basic Authentication, don't include the question mark special character (?) in the password. For URL, remove /data/ui from the end of the instance address listed in your Welcome email and in the Cloud Console.

  6. Click Save and Close.

Enrich Sales Account and Contact Data

Customer Data Management comes with preconfigured mappings (automatic mapping) of data attributes to enrich sales account and contact data from Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) using the batch enrichment process. You can view this mapping of sales account and contact attributes with Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) attributes in Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). For more information about this predefined mapping, see the About Mappings topic in the Related Topics section.

You may want to map sales account or contact attributes with Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) attributes of your choice. For example, you may want to enrich the currency attribute of sales account or enrich the competitor company attribute of sales contact. If you want to enrich additional attributes that aren't already mapped in the predefined mappings, you must create custom attributes and then create an import mapping using these custom attributes. Custom attributes are created using Application Composer. For more information about creating custom attributes, see the Configuring Applications Using Application Composer guide.

You can create one or more import mapping for each sales account and contact object. Customer Data Management provides a set of profile options for managing data enrichment of sales account and contact objects. You can use these profile options to select the import mapping for a sales account and contact object during data enrichment. All batch data enrichment requests and synchronization jobs use the selected import mapping.

Note: These settings don't impact real-time and account smart data. For more information, see the Configure Data Enrichment Attribute Mappings and Preferences in the Related Topics section.

To sum up:

  • Create an import mapping.

  • Select the import mapping for a sales account or contact object using its profile option.

Create an Import Mapping:

Prerequisite: Before you create an import mapping, you need a source file that contains the seeded mapping for account or contact. You can export account or contact data from Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) which can then be used as the source file for creating a new mapping.

  1. Go to Navigator > Tools > Import Management

  2. Click the Import Objects tab.

  3. Select the required object. For example, you can select Account.

  4. Click the Create Import Mapping button.

  5. Specify a name in the File Import Mapping field.

  6. Click Action > Select Source File.

    Select a template file that's downloaded from Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B).

    A list of Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) attributes in the source file is displayed in the Source File table under the Map Fields section.

  7. Type the name of the required Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) attribute in the Search field of the Source File section.

    All attributes matching the search criteria are displayed under Column Header and their values are displayed under Example Value.

  8. Similarly, type the name of the newly created custom CDM Cloud attribute in the Search field of the Target Attributes section.

  9. Drag and drop the CDM Cloud attributes from the Target Attributes list to the Attribute Display Name field corresponding to the required Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) attribute. Repeat this step for all the required attributes.

  10. Click Save and Close.

Select the Mapping Using Profile Options: After the import mappings are created, you can select the newly created mapping for data enrichment using a set of profile options.

Perform the following steps to access the profile options.

  1. Click Navigator > My Enterprise > Setup and Maintenance work area.

  2. Click the Tasks menu and click Search. Search for Manage Administrative Profile Values task and open it.

  3. Search and set the following profile options as needed:

    • Account Enrichment Map (ORA_ZCH_ACCOUNT_BATCH_ENRICHMENT_IMPORT_MAP): select the import mapping for the Account object.

    • Additional Name Enrichment Map (ORA_ZCH_ADDITIONAL_NAME_BATCH_ENRICHMENT_IMPORT_MAP): select the import mapping for the Additional Name.

    • Additional Identifier Enrichment Map (ORA_ZCH_ADDITIONAL_IDENTIFIER_BATCH_ENRICHMENT_IMPORT_MAP): select the import mapping for the Additional Identifier object.

    • Classification Enrichment Map (ORA_ZCH_CLASSIFICATION_BATCH_ENRICHMENT_IMPORT_MAP): select the import mapping for the Classification object.

    • Address Enrichment Map (ORA_ZCH_ADDRESS_BATCH_ENRICHMENT_IMPORT_MAP): select the import mapping for the Address object.

    • ContactPoint Enrichment Map (ORA_ZCH_CONTACT_POINT_BATCH_ENRICHMENT_IMPORT_MAP): select the import mapping for the Contact Point object.

The profile value field for the these profile options displays a list of existing import mappings in addition to the Automatic Mapping. By default, the Automatic Mapping option is selected. You can select any import mapping that was already created. All the batch enrichment requests and synchronization jobs that are submitted from this point on use the newly selected mapping.

How you Configure Manual Data Enrichment

CDM comes with preconfigured mappings of data attributes to import account and contact data from Oracle Account and Contact Enrichment by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). If you require additional attributes not in these mappings, you must create a custom mapping and manually import the data using that mapping.
