Audience and Scope

Welcome to the Oracle Fusion Cloud Sales Automation: Implementation Reference guide.

Important: To learn how to start you implementation and how to implement a sales force automation solution, start with the Implementing Sales guide. The Implementing Sales guide covers key setups in both CX Sales and Digital Sales, the next generation of Oracle's sales application (Next Gen Sales).

Use this guide to learn about additional features and options:

  • How to implement application functionality that's not covered in the Implementing Sales guide.
  • How to configure sales application behavior with profile options and lookup types.
  • How to administer the application. How to run scheduled processes to complete a data refresh, and how to set up auditing, for example.
  • How to configure the pages of your CX Sales and CX Sales Mobile applications. How to add tabs and fields that are hidden by default, for example.
  • How to manually perform some of the tasks automated by the Setup Assistant. The Implementing Sales guide assumes that you speed up your initial implementation using Setup Assistant. This guide covers the equivalent manual steps. For example, while the Setup Assistant sets up the root of your sales catalog with one entry, this guide provides the manual tasks to accomplish the same task.

This reference guide doesn’t cover advanced configuration and extensibility tasks for either CX Sales or Digital Sales.

For information on creating and securing custom objects, modifying user interface pages, creating object workflows and custom subject areas, and writing Groovy scripts in CX Sales, see the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications: Configuring Applications Using Application Composer guide.

For information on how to extend and configure Digital Sales features and UIs, see the Oracle Fusion Cloud Sales Automation Extending Digital Sales (Next Gen Sales) guide. To access this guide, contact your Oracle representative.

For an overview of which features are available in CX Sales, which features are available in Digital Sales, and which features are available in both, see the topic CX Sales and Digital Sales Features in the Sales Solution in the Implementing Sales guide.

Look at the Related Guides topic in this chapter for other guides that you can consult as you implement, configure, and use the sales application.

Note: In previous releases, this guide was named Implementing Sales. In 22D, this guide is renamed the Implementation Reference guide and the Implementing Digital Sales (Next Gen Sales) guide is renamed to Implementing Sales guide.
