Overview of Setting Up Additional Product Information

When a user browses the product catalog, selects a product, and drills down into the product details, the application displays more tabs with additional information. These tabs are considered related items of that item that the user is viewing. You set up all of the related information in Product Information Management (PIM).

The related item tabs are:

  • Details and Specifications: Populated from the PIM Long Description field
  • Similar Products: Products with a relationship type of Substitute
  • Service Products: Products with a relationship type of Service
  • Included Warranty: Products with a relationship type of Warranty
  • Accessories: Products with a relationship type of Accessories

Here are the high-level steps to add content to these tabs. For complete information, start with the Item Specifications and Attributes topic in the Using Product Master Data Management guide.

  1. Sign in as a setup user.
  2. From the Manage Items task in the Product Information Management UI, search for an item and edit it.
  3. Navigate to the Relationships tab.
  4. Search for and add the related items.
  5. Save your changes.
Note: You can't show custom fields for the Product object in the Browse Catalog UI.
