Set Up Integration With Oracle Projects

Service Logistics users have the option of integrating with Oracle Projects so that project details can be associated with service work orders, third-party work orders, and depot repair work orders.

When a work order is associated with a project, the charges from the work order debrief lines are posted to Oracle Projects and processed as project expenditure.

To set up the integration with Oracle Projects:

  1. In the Setup and Maintenance work area, opt in for the Project-Driven Supply Chain feature:

    • Navigation: Setup and Maintenance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management Setup, Change Feature Opt In

    • Functional Area: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management

    • Feature: Project-Driven Supply Chain

  2. Choose the Enable inventory tracking by project parameter for the desired inventory organization or plant:

    • Under the Setup and Maintenance work area, select the Manage Inventory Organizations task:

      • Offering: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management

      • Functional Area: Facilities

      • Task: Manage Inventory Organizations

    • Query the inventory organization.

    • Click Manage Organization Parameters.

    • Select the check box Enable inventory tracking by project.

  3. Classify the inventory organizations or plants enabled for inventory tracking as Project Expenditure Organizations and also include them in the project hierarchy in the Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud application.

  4. If project-specific debrief or depot repair maintenance costs will be sent to Oracle Project Financials, then you must classify the inventory organizations that are enabled for inventory tracking as Project Expenditure Organizations in Project Portfolio Management.

  5. If project-specific debrief or depot repair maintenance costs aren't to be sent to Oracle Project Financials, then you should set up project types in Project Portfolio Management for exclusion from cost collections in Supply Chain Management.
