Set Up Additional Information Using Descriptive Flexfields
Set up descriptive flexfields to add custom attributes to various entities in your Service Logistics application and define validation for them.
You can use these custom fields to capture other information specific to your business. Service Logistics provides the following predefined flexfields:

To set up descriptive flexfields:

Go to the Setup and Maintenance work area.

Click the Tasks panel tab and then click Search.

In the Search page, query Manage Descriptive Flexfields.

From your search results, click the Manage Descriptive Flexfields link.

In the Manage Descriptive Flexfields page, type RCL % in the Flexfield Code field. Click Search.

You'll see the predefined flexfields for Service Logistics in the search results. You can edit the flexfields to add global segments that include both context segments and context-sensitive segments. Once you've set up and deployed the flexfields, the custom fields are displayed in the region where you've configured them. Let's look at some sample configurations for Service Logistics. Note that this is for illustration purpose only and the fields that you configure will be specific to your business requirement.
Example 1: Manage Debrief and Charges page
Here you can see an example of custom entities added to the Debrief Headers Attributes flexfield.
There are two types of flexfields segments here:

Global Segment: These custom attributes are always displayed. In the example above, the Landmark and Distance fields are global segments.

Context Segment: These attributes decide which context-sensitive segments will be displayed. In the example above, Alternate Contact and Customer Info are set up as context segments. When the user selects the context segment Alternate Contact, other attributes such as Customer Name and Phone Number are displayed. These attributes are called context-sensitive segments which are displayed depending on the value of the context segment.

Note that the Technician field is a global segment. The Technician Contact field is an example of a context-sensitive segment that's displayed only when the context segment Requirement Header is selected.
