Set Up Return Routing Rules (Redwood)

Search for and add return routing rules.

To return create return routing rules:

  1. Click Setup and Maintenance, then in the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management offering, click Service Logistics, and then click Return Routing Rules.

  2. You'll see the Return Routing Rules search page. You can use this search page to search for return routing rules.

    The Return Routing Rules page includes the:
    • Search bar
    • Filter Chips suggestion bar
      Note: Click Filters to open a side drawer with more search parameters.
    • Magnifying Glass icon
    • Return Routing results table

    Search bar

    The search bar opens with filter chips, which you can add or delete depending on your search needs. The selectable filter chips include:
    • Return Source Type (LOV)

    • Source Organization (LOV)

    • Source Subinventory (LOV)
    • Zone (LOV)

    • Filters
      Note: Click Filters to open a side drawer with more search parameters:
      • Return Source Type
      • Source Organization
      • Zone
      • Return Type
      • Item Catalog
      • Destination Organization

    You can also enter free text, which will search the following estimates attribute:

    • Item

    Because the application supports autocomplete and fuzzy logic, you can partially type your search terms.

    Filter Chips suggestions bar

    The filter chips appear in the Search bar and provide suggestions for filtering your results set. For example, you might see a filter suggestion for a source organization. You can select this filter chip to filter your results.

    When you select one of the filter chips in the suggestions bar, it’s added to the Search bar and filters the results table.

    You can use the Magnifying Glass icon to search for the attributes selected in the search bar.

    Return Routing Rules results table

    The Return Routing Rules results table lists the results based on your search criteria and filters. You can also sort your results by selecting the arrows next to the column headers.

    From the search results, you can begin to add, edit, or delete new return routing rules. Select the Edit or Delete icons for each row in the search results table.

    To add a rule:

    • Select a return source type. This can either be Zone or Organization and Subinventory. Use Zone to create a return routing rule for a customer return. Use Organization and Subinventory to create the rule for all field service returns.

    • Source Organization and Source Subinventory: Enabled only if the return source type is Organization and Subinventory. List of values includes all inventory organizations and subinventories with a stocking location type of Field Technician.

    • Zone: Enabled only if return source type is Zone. Includes all zones set up in the Manage Shipping Zones page using the zone type defined in the Service Logistics Profile Option (Return Routing Zone Type). When a customer returns a part, a TCA API runs to decide the applicable return routing zone based on the customer's address. The zone decides which return routing rule is applied to default as the destination subinventory.

    • Return Type: Defective, Excess, or Supplier Warranty.

    • Item Catalog and Item Category: Helps to filter the item list of values if you're going to set up return routing rules for specific items. You can create return routing rules at just the item category level.

    • Item: LOV displays all items with billing type tied to the material billing category and, if entered, the item category.

    • Destination Organization: The inventory organization.

    • Destination Subinventory: All subinventories in the destination organization selected.

    • Enabled: Select Yes or No to indicate whether this rule should be enabled for your organization or not.

    • Click Add to add the rule.
Note: Users assigned a job role with the Return Routing Rules (RCL_MANAGE_RETURN_RULES_PRIV) privilege can access this feature.
