Set Up Service Activities (Redwood)

Search for and add service activities with defined actions to service a customer.

To create the service activity:

  1. Click Setup and Maintenance, then in the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Materials Management offering, click Service Logistics, and then click Service Activities.

  2. You'll see the Service Activities search page. You can use this search page to search for service activities.

    The Service Activities page includes the:
    • Search bar
    • Filter Chips suggestion bar
    • Magnifying Glass icon
    • Service Activities results table

    These are described in the following table:

    Field Name

    Description

    Search bar

    The search bar opens with filter chips, which you can add or delete depending on your search needs. The selectable filter chips include:
    • Transaction Category

    • Business Process

    • Order Type

    • Order Line Type

    • Resource Activity

    You can also enter free text, which will search the following:

    • Service Activity
    • Description

    Because the application supports autocomplete and fuzzy logic, you can partially type your search terms.

    Filter Chips suggestions bar

    The filter chips appear in the Search bar and provide suggestions for filtering your results set. For example, you might see a filter suggestion for a resource activity. You can select this filter chip to filter your results.

    When you select one of the filter chips in the suggestions bar, it’s added to the Search bar and filters the results table.

    You can use the Magnifying Glass icon to search for the attributes selected in the search bar.

    Service Activities results table

    The Service Activities results table lists the results based on your search criteria and filters. You can also sort your results by selecting the arrows next to the column headers.

    Review the results in the results table. The table includes the following parameters:
    • Service Activity Code
    • Service Activity
    • Description
    • Transaction Category
    • Business Process
    • Order Type
    • Order Line Type
    • Resource Activity
    • Create Order
    • Zero Charge
    • Update Cost
    • Enabled
    From the search results, you can begin to add or edit service activities. Select the Edit icon for each row in the search results table.
    Note: You can't delete a service activity on this page.
    To add a service activity:
    1. Navigate to the Service Activities search page. Here you'll see a table that lists the service activities based on the page filters.
    2. Click Add Service Activity. This opens the Add Service Activity drawer.
    3. Enter a service activity code.
    4. Enter a service activity name.
    5. Enter a description.
    6. Select a transaction category.
    7. Select a business process.
    8. Select an order type.
    9. Select an order line type.
    10. Select a resource activity.
    11. Set the relevant options for the service activity:
      • Create Order
      • Zero Charge
      • Update Cost
      • Enabled
    12. Select a billing type.
    13. Set the Enabled option for the billing type.
    14. Click Add.
Note: Users assigned a job role with the Service Activities (RCL_SERVICE_ACTIVITIES_SETUP_PRIV) privilege can access this feature.
