You can add a credit card to pay for part orders, including new, exchange, advanced exchange, and return orders.

Either select an existing credit card associated with the bill-to address or add a new credit card.
Note: You can update the credit card until the sales order is created.

Add a Credit Card as Payment Method

  1. Create a part requirement and enter the required header information.

  2. In the Payment Method field, select Credit Card.

The Credit card drawer opens automatically.

Note: If a credit card is already associated with the part requirement, you can select the Credit Card button to open the drawer and make any changes.
  3. In the Credit card drawer, select a credit card from the Credit Card list.

The list displays the customer's credit cards associated with the bill-to address. If only one credit card is available, it's selected by default.

  4. If the required credit card isn't available, select Add Credit Card and enter the new credit card information.

  5. Confirm the selected credit card and complete the remaining part requirement information.

  6. Select Order to create the sales order.

    When you submit the order:

    • A unique transaction ID is created for the credit card transaction.

    • The credit card charge is authorized.

    • The credit card information and authorization status are added to the sales order.

    • The sales order information flows to Accounts Receivable, where the credit card is charged.

Update the Credit Card Payment Method

You can also update the payment method from the Edit Part Requirement header drawer.

  1. Open the part requirement that you want to update.

  2. Open the Edit Part Requirement header drawer.

  3. In the Payment Method field, select Credit Card.

  4. In the Credit card drawer, select the required credit card from the Credit Card list.

If necessary, add a new credit card.

  5. Save your changes.

How Credit Card Authorization for Order Changes are Processed

If you add parts to an existing sales order, authorization is performed only for the additional charge amount.

For example, if the original order was authorized for $500 and additional parts increase the total by $100, only the additional $100 is authorized.

Credit card authorization isn't performed when the resulting total charge is negative.
