Using the Metadata Catalog The metadata catalog was enhanced. You can now find out:

Note for enabling REST API In the November 2015 release and later, the REST API is enabled by default. In the May and August 2015 releases, you must set the PAPI_REST_ENABLED configuration setting to Yes to enable the REST API.
Executing Analytics Reports You can execute Analytics reports by using the POST operation.
Excluding Null Data You can use the prefer header to reduce the amount of data retrieved.
  You can use the fields parameter to return specific fields from collection resources, as well as from objects.
Managing File Attachments You can retrieve lists of file attachments, and upload and download file attachments.
Managing NamedIDs You can retrieve the list of possible values in a menu and view the available menu selections for a particular resource.
Managing NamedIDHierarchies You can retrieve and view NamedIDs that hold hierarchical values.
  You can change the number of records displayed and the record with which to start displaying results.
Sorting You can display returned data in a chosen order.
