View ISIR

Users are able to View the ISIR and all data fields within the current and previous ISIRs. Student Financial Aid stores all ISIR data for multiple award years in order to allow users to view all ISIRs associated with a student.

Overview

Note: For 2023-2024 and prior Aid Year ISIRs, there is no specific General Permission via Roles Management required to view the ISIR. To view the entire ISIR for the 2024-2025 and future Aid Years, a user must have the Federal Tax Information (FTI) Viewer permission to see all IRS data fields within the ISIR.

Required Role Permissions

The user must have a role with these General Permissions through Roles Management to complete the manual processing steps:

  • Student.
  • FTI Viewer (for 2024-2025 and future Aid Years).

Manual Processing Steps

Log into the Student Financial Aid User Interface (UI).

  1. Enter the student's external student ID number in the search field located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. Navigate to Student > USDE > ISIR.
  3. Select the Award Year (if multiple Award Year ISIRs exist).
  4. Review ISIR Fields (default view).
    • For 2023-2024 and prior Aid Years, click any of these sections to review ISIR data:
      • General Student Info
      • Student Financial Info
      • Dependency/Military Info
      • Parent's Info
      • Student Household Info
      • School Choice Info
      • Signature Info
      • Office Info
      • FAA Info
      • NSLDS Info
    • For 2024-2025 and future Aid Years, click any of these sections to review ISIR data:
      • ISIR Info
      • Student Info
      • Student Financial Info
      • Student Spouse Info
      • Student Spouse Financial Info
      • Parent and Parent Spouse Info
      • Parent and Parent Spouse Financial Info
      • FPS Info
      • Correction, Highlight, Verify Flags
      • NSLDS Info
      • School Choice Info
      • Signature and Preparer Info
  6. Click the View Codes tab to review Comment Codes. Comment code descriptions are updated directly from the FAFSA Specifications Guide, Volume 7 every year. In some instances, descriptions may be truncated. For full details, review the FAFSA Specifications Guide updates for the Aid Year you're interested in.
Note: When navigating to Student > USDE > ISIR and viewing ISIR fields or ISIR codes, the Verification Tracking Group displays the tracking group number and description, for example, V1: Standard Verification Group.
