Configure Academic Period Attribute Dates for Predefined Attributes

Configure dates for predefined attributes such as first date to enroll.

  1. From Student Central, click Search and search for Academic Period Attribute Dates.

  2. Click the attribute name.

  3. Select a calculation method. The dates or pivot settings you enter here are default settings that can be changed when the attribute is assigned to an academic period.

    • Manual entry:

Select a date type to indicate when the attribute comes into effect. Select Date to indicate the date only. Select Date time to indicate the time and time zone and the date.

    • Pivot:

Select this method to define settings for the calculation of the attribute date on the academic period. After the attribute is assigned to the academic period when the period is created, the attribute date is calculated based on the pivot settings. You can update the default pivot settings on the academic period and recalculate the date.

Enter the required pivot data. The Days Adjusted By field means that you can have milestone dates outside the academic period dates. An example is if activities need to take place before the academic period begins.

  4. The tuition calculation attributes are the only predefined attributes which have a date type of Range. For these attributes, you can define a default date range that automatically defaults in when the period attribute is added to an academic period.
  5. Add tags to an attribute to indicate the type of period with which the attribute should be associated. For example, Academic or Academic Reporting. You can also remove tags.

When you create a period, the attribute is automatically added to the period based on a match between the attribute tag and period type.

It’s likely that you’ll want to assign most attributes at the academic period level, as this provides more granular date control for each milestone. The only attributes to assign at the reporting period level are Auto Tuition Calculation and Auto Tuition Calculation Self Service, if required.

The Drop Attribute and Penalty Drop Attribute tags are used in the Drop Scheme feature. They’re not used for associating academic period attributes with academic periods. Drop Schemes

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Cancel to return to the landing page.

If the attribute has a pivot calculation method, the Tags, Pivot Date Type, Offset, and Days Adjusted By data displays for the attribute on the landing page.

Note: You can't delete predefined academic period attribute dates.
