Status Schemes

Status schemes are groups of valid status values that apply to a business object. Decide which statuses to include in a scheme.

Map your statuses to these delivered status types:

  • New

  • In Progress

  • Completed

  • Paused

  • Canceled

When you create a task you associate a status scheme with it to allow users who are assigned the task to choose from that set of statuses while working on a task. For example, an admissions office may want to create a status scheme that contains multiple statuses, all indicating In Progress steps, to be used by evaluators during the application process.

Note: A status scheme must contain at least one status in the scheme for each delivered status type, except for New.

From Student Central, click Search and search for Status Schemes.

Use Functional Setup Manager to export status schemes set up in one student environment and import them into another student environment.

Status Schemes and Tasks

When you create a task (from Student Central, click Search and search for Task Management), you must assign a status scheme to it. When you choose a status scheme, you can see all of the statuses included in it. This helps you be sure that you've chosen the appropriate set of status options for the task assignee to use.
