Requirement Categories

Create requirement categories such as Required or Elective that are used to indicate, for example, how a course is incorporated into a program. These requirement categories are then available when you create course lists, academic groups, and programs.

Access the Requirement Categories page: From Student Central, click Search and search for Requirement Categories.

The Total Units and Courses requirement category is predefined. This category has a display sequence of 1 and therefore displays first on the Requirement Categories landing page. When you create your requirement categories, assign a display sequence number greater than 1.

Rapid Implementation

You can also create and load requirement categories using the Rapid Implementation process. Use these tasks in the Setup and Maintenance work area, Student Management offering:
